The Binatone Brick
Lunch famously is for wimps and so too apparently is your smartphone, if the makers of the Brick are to be believed. Unapologetically 80s in terms of its styling and defiantly 2G in terms of its technology, Binatone's phone harks back to a time when He-Man ruled the small screen but the Masters of the Universe controlled Wall St.
The Brick is more than just a novelty though... it's a handy hybrid device; if you pop your sim card into the back you can use it as your main phone - although you can forget Angry Birds, Snake is as sophisticated as mobile gaming gets with the Brick - but it will also pair with your regular smartphone to act as a bluetooth handset. So you can walkie-talkie just like Gordon and wedge it against your shoulder when you adjust your Cartier cufflinks - after all it is all about conspicuous consumption, right?
Binatone claim the XL battery offers 14 hours of talk time and up to 3 months on standby. It will even allow you to juice up your other gadgets. There's also a micro SD card slot onboard, so you can load up 'Now That's What I Call Music 1' and get down to some Kajagoogoo.
Head over to Carphone Warehouse where they will be available soon... "Wake up, will ya, pal? If you're not inside, you're outside, okay?"
