Bonzart Ampel Tilt-Shift Twin Lens Digital Camera
You may not be a professional photographer, but with every smartphone coming with a camera these days, no doubt you're snapping away and addicted to applying filters and using special effects. And just like the way digital MP3s made vinyl more popular, there is a growing market for interesting cameras.
Bonzart are a Japanese camera manufacture that fully appreciate the art of photography. Their latest creation uses two lenses to create a tilt-shift result. Normally tilt-shift photography is a real skill and involves specialist equipment, where the camera is manipulated resulting in a life-sized location or subject looking like a miniature-scale model.
Looking like a miniature traffic light, The Ampel (appropriately named after the iconic pedestrian crossing symbol in Berlin) creates this amazing effect wonderfully easily. One of the lenses takes normal photos, while the other takes tilt-shift images. It can produce either 4:3 or 1:1 ratio images, in up to 5 megapixel resolution or take 720p HD video. This is coupled with integrated filters including standard, vivid, black & white and sepia and a HC SD card slot for up to 32GB of storage.
Yes, you can get apps for your smartphone that give the tilt-shift effect, but as any photographer knows, using the correct lenses and equipment always gives superior results. Plus, imagine turning everything you shoot into a beautifully detailed model world.
Bonzart camera is available for £150 at The Photographers Gallery
